Hi everyone, i would like to know if my computer build will support modernwarfare 2 at high settigs:

AMD athlon II x2 2.8ghz (no overclocking)
PowerColor 4870 512mb (also no overclocking)
4gb DDR2 800mhz
480/530 watts PSU (not sure which one yet, the shop dude will tell me)
500 gb seagate 16mb

And will my 800 mhz ram be enough for the processor for that 1:1 ratio? And how long will ddr2 stay in the market? Cause lets say my ddr2 stops working after the warranty expires, lets say 2 years, then I have to change the entire system, not enough $$ to do that yet.

Yeah, but if you value your money buy some DDR2 2*2GB during the Black Friday/Christmas sales. DDR2 prices are about the same as DDR3 prices now. Expect the DDR2 prices to continue going up.

You'll run it max setting no problem.

I have a lesser system and I run it max at 1600x1050.

I'm at e5200 2.5gigs intel, 4 gigs ram, vista 32bit and xfx 4870 1gig.

I don't have modern warfare 2 though, only the first one, but they're the same in terms of graphics and engine.

lol...by monitor support a max of 1440*900. it's a 19" The model is:

Dell E198WFP

I was only worried a little because some people have problems playing mw2 with the same graphics cards. But i guess it will be ok.

Thanks a lot everyone.

And what wrong with a DDR2 for an athlon II system. I can get DDR3 also, but then the motherboard would be more expensive. I'm on a tight budget.

ok, thanks, but I like in asia, so newegg doesnt ship here. I'm on a super tight budget, and i've already exceeded it. I've changed my mind and i'm going for the MSI 740gtm-p25 motherboard now. It's a micro-atx board, which i'll be putting in a atx casing (asus vento ta-8h2). All the other specs will be the same, i hope my graphics card ( 4870 512 mb) fits. What good does the on-chip ddr3 controller do?
