I wanted to overclock my i7-2600k to 4.4ghz or 4.5ghz with good voltage.

I heard OFFSET MODE lowers the voltage when on IDLE??

If that's the case i would love to go on OFFSET...

Oh and does overclocking 4.4ghz to 4.5ghz safe?

I wanted my CPU to have a long life so this is why i'm asking the pros.

Oh and i tried the "ASUS OPTIMAL MODE" and right no i'm at 4.4xxGhz 1(03x43 = 4.4ghz)

and my temps are

Idle: 36-42
Load: 60-72

AMBIENT TEMP: is pretty hot around 30c+

yes. Offset mode does save power when not using the full CPU. Overclocking to 4.5ghz is safe, no worries. This is a good overclock setting to work on:

CPU Multiplier x45
BCLK: 100mhz (leave at 100)
Short and Long duration: 230/200.
core current limit 200
Vcore: OFFSET mode +0.020Volts
Load line calibration: LEVEL 4
Spread spectrum disabled
SpeedStep: on

Everything else leave auto.

e/of course everyone's CPU is different. You may need to adjust the OFFSET mode voltage if it doesnt boot. With the OC max I get is around 57-58'C

I'm having 0.20v sometimes on idle i don't know why but when that i happens i'm not receiving any BSOD!

But my regular idle volts are in the range of 0.90v and up but sometimes low.

and my load volts 1.260v ~ 1.295v

Those temps are stable,,but not best. what Cpu cooler do you have? Also, C6 can be enabled as they're all power saving features
