Hi, I recent had a computer built for me. Is there a way to speed up Intel i7 920? I ran a performace test and the processor ran 4.9.Before that it ran 6.2. this is what I have. I have not touched any of the setting's yet.
Windows 7 Professional 64 bit
INTEL i7 920 cpu
ASUS P6T WS Pro Main Board
Kingston 12 gb DDR 3 1333 MHZ 6 DIMMS
LG DVD Burner
WD 300 GB Velocity Raptor 10,000 RPM Hard Drive
WD 1.5 TB Hard Drive
EVGA GTX 260-Core 216 896 mb DDR3 Graphics Card
ANTEC 300 Case
ANTEC Earth 750 watt power supply
4 LED Fans
24"Samsung syncmaster 245bw

I would tell the person you hade build it to go into the bios and make sure its set right.

Check the CPU to make sure its not getting to hot

You could OC the CPU to make it run faster but it should be giving a better score then that @ stock speed

Make sure you have hyperthreading enabled.
