Alright. I am building a new computer and I narrowed down my processor choice to three different ones.
E6300, E7500, and Q8400.

The latter two seem much better than the 6300.
I was wondering what the community thinks. I will be overclocking and the processor will need to be able to handle gaming at the most.
Thank you for the help.

The performance difference isn't that much and the price is. I also think that every year cpu's become less important in playing games. The gpu is becoming more useful.

^+1 - no sense trying to decide what CPU to get before you know how much you want to spend on the system !! - since that will make the decision for you in most cases (you want to build a system where all of the components compliment each other for maximum performance at that price - no sense getting a cripppled CPU like an E6300 and putting it in a system with a 5970 GPU or vice versa. you want to balance all of the pieces so that you get the best performance for the money you want to spend and without knowing how much that is your not going to succeed in building a balanced system !

EDIT : and what Video card do you have ??
