Gskill timings on asus m4a79xtd evo

Cpu-z shows my memory tunning on 667mhz and latencies 9-9-9-24-33-1T

my memory should be 1333mhz 7-7-7-21 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231276)

so far I only changed memory mhz in bios (set it to 1333 from auto) but its still 667mhz in cpu-z.


tried reading "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Memory_timings" but dont wanna start experimenting. i would appreciate a little help with these settings.

I guess I should change TCL to 7, TRCD to 7, TRP to 7, TRAS to 21 and leave everything else on auto?

update: yeah changed these settings now cpu-z shows 7-7-7-21-33 <--- is 33 ok? but dram frequency still 666.7 instead of 1333

Hi.

Set the 33 to 28. TRC=Tras+Trp

Now, bear in mind that DDR3 means double-data-rate three, in other words the speed that u see in CPU-Z or the BIOS need be multiplied by two, so, 666.7x2=1333.4 that is the speed of ur RAM.

thank you, I kinda figured it out when I set memory to 1066, and I got 5xx mhz in cpu-z. confirmation helps.

Don't worry, CPU-Z show my current RAM as 400MHz, but it is a 800MHz.

For the 1066, the speed that CPU-Z must show is 533MHz or very similar.
