Hi,
I currently have a AMD Athlon 64 x2 +5600 proc on a Asrock K10N78hSLI-GLAN motherboard.I would like to buy a AMD Athlon x4 but i dont know if my motherboard can run it. I cannot find the Athlon x4 in the CPU support list but on the site it shows that this mobo is AM3 ready. So what could happen if I put an Athlon x4 in the CPU socket?

Hi newcomer and welcome to the Tom's hardware forum.

I check the CPU support list, and that mobo only support the following AM3 CPUs:

1- Phenom II X4 925 Rev. C2
2- Phenom II X4 910 Rev. C2
3- Phenom II X4 810 Rev. C2
4- Phenom II X4 805 Rev. C2
5- Phenom II X3 720 Rev. C2

So, the Athlon II X4 isn't in the list that means that isn't supported.
