Can't view/copy floppy disk files, unformatted on XP

Hello,
I want to view/copy old resume info. from a floppy disk. Tried to open in Drive A, just says disk is not formatted. If I choose "Format Now," won't that delete the floppy content I need? Will only copy from floppy to floppy.

Yes, that will delete the files. Something you might try:
Right click the A: Drive > Properties > sharing
and click to share the content.

How / where Was the floppy created ? Another user, another computer ?

Always the possibility (if old) the data is no longer readable, as the FAT may be corrupted.
