Okay, i have a MSI K9N2 Diamond with a 9800gt. I had all the parts outside the case on cardboard to test everything and it booted up perfectly and the graphic card was used by default as the primary card. When i turned it on then, the fan would start at 100% then go back down to the quite 40%. However, i now put all my components in my case and it will not recognize my graphic card at all and when i select PCI-E as my primary GPU in the bios, then no video signal comes out of my 9800gt, but it does come out of the integrated graphics if i have a HDMI cable connected right when i turn it on. Also now that its in my case, my 9800gt fan stays at 100% and never goes down. Device manager in windows 7 doesnt recognize any devices with problems or my 9800gt. Can anyone help me?

its a XFX 9800gt, yeah its connected with a 6pin power connector to a 800 watt PSU with 4 rails each at 25+ amps. I dont thing thats the problem because i didn't change anything besides moving all the parts out of the case

If everything is working when it is out of the case I'm just wondering if there is a slight alignment problem or a short. I used to have a Matrox AGP card that had to be seated quite carefully in the slot.

well everything is seated perfectly. My case is a little off though when i get to the slots at the bottom, but it seats nicely where it is. Maybe its a grounding problem?
