Windows XP sp3 computer problems

Hi, this is my first visit, so be kind <g>

One of my floppies won't read. It's not the A drive, because other floppies can be read.

I really need to salvage the data from this floppy (and stop using floppies!!! I heard the new computers don't even HAVE A drives. T/F?)

A neighborhood computer place said they "don't have the tools" to do the data recovery.

Anybody know what they mean?

And have any suggestions how to recover this data?

TIA

True and some don't have CD drive either

There is data recovery software like RECUVA to recover deleted files - don't think it works on a: drive, but it might ! Floppy media will deteriorate over time

You might bring up a command prompt and run chkdsk on the drive chkdsk a: /r
