Concerned about my benchmark

i just did a benchmark with 3dmark vantage on my new build and it seems alot lower then others that i compared with

i5 750 @2.67
ausu5850
win7
4g ram 1600
corsair 750w
asus p7p55D pro mobo
Seagate 1TB Barracuda 7200.12 SATA II
23" 2ms 1920x1080

and heres the score i got on High with 1920x1080 settings

gpu score 7766
cpu score 12316

gpu test1 23.7fps
gpu test2 21fps

cpu test1 1741 plans/s
cpu test2 15.6 steps/s

um im also new to 3dmark so i just ran it at high and only changed the resolution

resolution has a huge effect on scores in any benchmark, i am not entirely familiar with what your exact setup is capable of, but it sounds about right. overclocking the cpu will shoot it up pretty quick though if thats your goal.

i recently scored my system at P20000 or so on the performance preset at 1280x1024 to help give some perspective. that was with an overclock on the gpu as well
 
Just use fraps or something similar to see how many frames per second you are getting. Then compare it with reviews to see if it's in line with what you should be getting. Some games can display fps on their own without fraps, usually with a console command.
