WD Black vs Seagate Barracuda

How much faster is the Black? I'm wondering if I should put the $20 toward the black or just use the money for a Hyper 212+. If the Black is 20% faster or such then I'll get it and delay the Hyper 212+.

They should provide similar performance. The warranty on the Black is 5 years, but it probably is less on the Barracuda.

i have always been a barracuda fan and allot of people i know use wd and have allot of problems with them,

So i would go with the barracuda,

like ghislaing said they are more or less the same.

I have both (most are WD) and they all wok fine.

maby they just messed theirs up and blamed it on wd.

But from my experience i only use barracuda and i wouldn't go with any other brand.

I use Seagate, WD, Samsung and Fujitsu.

I had no problems with them; only issue was with a WD that wasn't compatible with an Intel DG965RY motherboard. I now use it in another system with a different motherboard. If I had to buy another hard disk, I'd also consider the Samsung F3.
