Cant get my PC to see SATA drive on Promise controller card

I have an unRaid system (www.lime-technology.com) which i built myself a while back.

I have an ASUS P5PE-VM LGA 775 Intel 865G Micro ATX Intel Motherboard and a PROMISE SATA300 TX4 PCI SATA II (3.0Gb/s) Controller Card.

I have a sata hard drive on each of the six SATA ports on the motherboard and one drive connected to port 2 on the promise controller card.

I want to add another SATA drive and for some reason when i connect it to any of the ports on the promise controller card I cant get the system to see it.

unraid servers use their own version of linux (unraid OS) so i don't think there is any utility i can install to manage the devices on the promise card.

I am wondering if there is anything I need to modify in my system bios to get it to work or if there is some kind of hotkey to enter the promise bios.

any suggestions?

That card should show up as a SCSI controller, and you should be able to use normal Linus tools to manage the drives as SCSI drives.
