I have a gigabyte ud3p MB and a Phenom 2 550 and have been trying to unlock the two additional cores. I have loaded the f2c bios and have changed the settings to enable and hybrid im the MIT tab. It loads fine then shuts down. It tries to re start but only runs for a second or two, never posts or even takes the screen out of sleep mode. I have unplugged PSU and waited, then tried again, Same thing happens with shut down. Have to clear the CMOS in order to get PC back up. I am an extreme newbie at this. I think I have a cpu that really does have issues with the two additional cores. On the very real chance that I am just an idiot I thought maybe some one with more knowledge might be able to help me sort this out. Below are sys specs.
Gigabyte 770T ud3p
Phenom 2 550
2 Gigs crucial 1333 DDR3
Rosewill Performance 600 watt psu
HD4850 1g
Thanks to all

Ah u in luck as that mobo has been a tried and tested unlocker of 550BEs where i'm at and is building a stunning rep as a bang for buck AM3 mobo!

Do note that the stepping/batch of your chip also comes into play w.r.t being an unlocker ^^
