New nvidia cards

No one has the slightest clue, its all rumors and speculation at this point.

Thank god theres still Nvidia fans out there delaying their new PCs for the new elite Geforce 300 series cards!

According to these rumors, the Geforce 300 cards are going to be way better then the current 200 series, hopefully kicking ATI off the boat and claiming the Direct X 11 crown!

Does anyone remember the rumours where the 9800GTX was supposed to be 2x as powerful as an 8800GTX? It went from a rumour of 2GB of GDDR5 to only 512MB of GDDR3  

Yes, and the majority of Geforce 9 cards was basically a rebrand of Geforce 8 cards. However and once again the same goes with Geforce 200 cards, the Geforce 250GTS is the equivalent/rebrand of the Geforce 9800GTX, thus making the other graphics cards a big leap in performance.

There'll be no DX11 games worth playing before then anyway, so no biggie.

Tho there may be next refreshes from ATI by then.
This isnt good, no matter what color you paint it.
Keeps current DX11 cards high, and nVidia losing marketshare etc, plus the let down of their fans

Even if I was (and if continues, will be a fan) of nVidia (mostly for their drivers, as ATI drivers have the worst installation procedure EVER included their control panel), you have to admit that the crown is to ATI for now, we will talk about comparisons only if nVidia ship their stuff in the market, before that you just have to give credit to them, as by my point of view (not the brand), nVidia was sitting on their laurees...

So wait for a new battle,..., best prices for us.

I think I'll wait to build my first computer until I see these cards. Whew, I needed a good reason to wait, otherwise I would probably install WoW as soon as I got it running. Then, I would get stuck retaking calc 2 for the third time.

Hoping to see some probably enginering sample reviews in about 2 weeks.

In two weeks the tests will finally show nVidia with a 4-5% gain over the ATi and you'll be like ... "was it worth waiting 6 months?"  

If the card and drivers work and work well straight out of the box, then it will be one up on ATi and some people may feel that alone was worth the wait, so if it's a bit better performing as well then it's a double bonus really.  

I think some people will be quite surprised.

True but then its not all about performance is it, if it was about straight performance all the time then the 5770 and below just wouldnt sell now would they.

Which just goes to illustrate the point that i have raised before when people keep saying that it will be priced out of the market because Nvidia is always expensive compared to ATI.
And the point is that we have no idea what the price point will be as we dont know what Nvidia is thinking stratergy wise, and it dosent matter if it is because there is a history that says people will buy them anyway.

There isn't a big marging between computer built in september and the one we'll be able to build in 2 months. I've been shopping for a couple months now and seeing the market right now, i don't see how someone could be FORCED to upgrade at the moment and be penalized because the new nvidia cards aren't out yet. At the end, it's a personal choice, ATI might perform better in some games and nvidia in other games. If you've always had nvidia card and want to wait, it's your choice, if you're tired of waiting and buy ATI, then nvidia is the loses the battle. We'll be able to make a wise choice when nvidia releases their new cards and comparision will be possible. For the moment, it's all speculation and faboy'ism.

You are going to be waiting a while then as so far there is only one card in the 300 series, which as the 300 series is the OEM line up means that it has a retail equivalent, the GT210.

It will be very good to see what they come up with =D
