  1. Hi newcomer and welcome to the Tom's hardware forum.

    PC2-8500 DDR2-SDRAM (dual channel 128-bit):

    Rate (bit/s): 136.0 Gbit/s
    Rate (byte/s): 17 GB/s
    Rate (MHz): 1,066MH
    DDR #: DDR2-1066

    PC3-8500 DDR3-SDRAM (dual channel 128-bit):

    Rate (bit/s): 136.4 Gbit/s
    Rate (byte/s): 17.1 GB/s
    Rate (MHz): 1,066MHz
    DDR #: DDR3-1066

Can u see a big difference?

    P.D. Google knows everything.
  2. I recommend you look at DDR3 speeds of 1333 or 1600, but try to find modules with low latency of CL7 or less. As far as DDR3 memory goes, 1066Mhz is on the low end performance-wise.
I think they sell kits that go as high as 2133Mhz, but those are outrageously expensive and not mainstream ram.
