Recover an excel workbook

Hello,
How do I recover an excell workbook that I replace with an empty workbook when I was queried about replacing the existing file with the same title?

If you have overwritten the file with a new one, I don't think there is anything you can do. I have seen lots of suggestions on here before, but I have never heard of anything that actually worked.

If you have shadowcopy enabled, right click the folder where the file was located and go to Previous Versions.

If you don't have that option, get a file undelete program. Not guaranteed to work, but if you don't have backups then it's your best option.
