I'm new to this forums and It's my first Topic. Don't know a lot about DDR3 and I have some troubles on understanding about memory clocks,I'll be buying a new Rig and I want a DDR3 which is clocked at 1866Mhz but the MOTHER BOARD says this,

(2800(O.C.)/2600(O.C.)/2400(O.C.)/2200(O.C.)/2133(O.C.)/2000(O.C.)/1866(O.C.)/1800(O.C.)/1600/1333/1066 MHz)....and I know its fine to put a 1600Mhz ram with out doing anything. My question is do I need to OC my Ram?or It will just auto detect to 1866Mhz?

More about : overclock ram bought ddr3 1866mhz

what platform do you have?
i know on my phenom II system my 1600MHz ram downclocks itself to 1333MHz, and also the O.C marked ones just means it raises the northbridge frequency along with the ram frequency
