Hi,

I just put together a new system:

Asrock X58 Extreme
Intel i7 930
OCZ Gold 6gb DDR PC12800 Memory
Asus 5850 DirectCU
Corsaur 750HX PSU
Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB HD

When I power up, it stops/freezes at post code 6A. Looking online there seems to various different interpretations of that code. Anyone knows what it is?

Is it a memory issue?

Thanks!

Solution
My guess would be a memory issue. There are/were known issues with OCZ memory and the X58 Extreme which were "supposed" to be resolved with a later BIOS update.

Is that OCZ memory on the ASrock QVL list? Verify is the model OCZ memory you have is on the supported list.

Have you tried updating to the latest BIOS?

Have you contacted ASRock support?

You can find the complete list of the 8MB AMI post codes here => AMI Post Codes
