APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: Would like the specs within a couple of days to next week.....need the list for the christmas wish list.
SYSTEM USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: Gaming, Movies, Music, Internet, Office

PARTS NOT REQUIRED: (e.g.: keyboard, mouse, monitor, speakers, OS) Keyboard, mouse, OS

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: (e.g.:, -- to show us selection & pricing) United States of America

PARTS PREFERENCES: doesn't really matter
OVERCLOCKING: Yes / No / Maybe SLI OR CROSSFIRE: To be honest i have no idea what this means. I am no good with computer hardware, i can easily do software, but all of this blows my mind (that is why i am coming here for help!)

MONITOR RESOLUTION: (e.g.: 1024x768, 1280x1024, 1440x900, 1600x1200, 1680x1050, 1920x1080, 1920x1200)
Ummm No idea
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: (e.g.: Need to have a window and lots of bling, I would like a quiet PC)

Trying this for the first time and would like to get a pc that lasts me through college and runs pretty much anything from firefox, to engineering software, to the newest games. I have 1500 dollars to spend with help from family/general savings from the past couple months. I dont want a computer that sounds like an airplane, but in general loudness of the PC is not a problem.

Thanks to whoever reads/helps me with this problem!

I'll have a go at this one. While I'm working on this, a couple questions:

What OS are you planning to use?

Are you going to be in a dorm?

Combo deal - i7 860 and Antec TP-650

Combo deal G.skill DDR3 and Gigabyte UD2

Cooler Master Storm Sniper case
Adequate cooling and handles to help the busy student move safely ;)

XFX 5850

Caviar Black 640GB

Optical drive

LG 22" gaming grade monitor

That leaves you some room for software or whatever. Speakers?
