Hp psc 1400 printer

There is an error message displaying on printer. The tricolor ink cartridg was replaced after it finished but message will not go. when the cartridge door is opened the pop up mesaage will show that cartridge door is opened. When I open the ink door, message will say no communication with printer and the error message shows continually.
