AMD phenom II x4 955 black memory

hi I’m guessing this is a noobish question but I’m going to buy the AMD phenom II x4 955 black soon and I know I have to have ddr2 800+ for it to be compatible with my motherboard but does it matter about the cpu, in other words do I have to get a certain type of memory to go with that cpu?

Nope. You don't need to worry about the CPU and ram. Only the motherboard and ram. Which motherboard do you have?

ok cheers i thought as much but this is my first build so i wanted to be 100% im getting a GA-MA790X-UD3P because i can use the ram i have atm instead of buying more
