What GPU do you have?
To over clock you use a tool like MSI afterburner or Sapphire Trixx; overclocking is where you adjust the speed of the core, memory and on some cards the shader speeds, and then you test it in games and bench marks to see if they're stable.
Additionally you can over volt (this is an advanced technique and I don't recommend it) this give the GPU more "power" to use but it shortens the life of the card and can kill it.
