I am going to be looking on NewEgg to buy all of my parts. I plan on building a gaming computer very soon and I need some help.

Can anyone compare these two systems for me? I'm guessing the combo deal from NewEgg is A LOT better then the one where I picked out parts.

Combo Deal:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboBundleDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.294213

Total (with monitor) - $1,368.96

Mine:

Case- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16811129043

Hard Drive- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16822136319

Video Card, Processor, RAM- http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.294770

Motherboard, PSU - http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.286882

CD/DVD Burner- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16827118030

Total (with monitor) - $1,108.91
______________

Now for monitor, I thought this was a pretty good one:

Monitor - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16824009163

But please leave any suggestions to other monitors that would be good for gaming.

I want a computer that I'll be able to keep and use for a while, so I liked how the NewEgg Combo came with 2 4890s. And since I'm guessing it is better, would it be worth it?

I am open to all suggestions, I would rather not rush something like this.

Thanks in advance! :)

PARTS PREFERENCES: Crossfire/SLI

OVERCLOCKING: Possibly, but for the time being, no.

Monitor Size: 20-24 inches

Budget Range: $1,000 ~ $1,400

PARTS NOT REQUIRED: Mouse, Keyboard, OS

Please review my last post.

Also if this is primarily a gaming rig, the i5-750 will arguably be a better choice. There's pros and cons to each side, but at this time the i5 delivers better gaming performance for a similar price (even in Crossfire/SLI). If you do decide on AMD, the Phenom II X4 955 can be overclocked similarly to the 965, so you're saving a few bucks by going for the 955.

If you're looking at dual 4890s, then you should also consider something in the HD 5xxx lineup. They have DirectX11, and great performance. I haven't price-matched power/value between them and the 4890, but it's definitely worth some consideration.

I've been thinking about it and I think I'm just going with the 5850 when its in stock again.

Probably the build you posted with a different hard drive, possibly a different case. I was trying to find a combo with the i5 + a different case, but nothing I liked.

I haven't really heard much about that case:

COOLER MASTER RC-690-KKN1-GP Black SECC/ ABS ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Retail

Is it good?

Yes its a very good case for the money. If you like something differnt look into the Antec 900 or CM 922 both good cases also

As far as HDD the samsung F3 500 is a fast HDD is you need more space mybe look into the WD black 640.

Make sure you update the bios on the mobo when you get the PC up and running.

All right, so I changed out the case, and picked a combo for the processor that had a psu.

This is what the final looks like, review please? :D

The HSF and 5850 are both out of stock. If I am going to buy it before 11/30 I'll probably get the HSF from your amazon link and just wait for the 5850 to get resupplied.
Please let me know if that power supply I switched in would be good enough or if you suggest any better combos that could save me some money.

I would buy the corsair over that other PSU. The corsair 750W is a very good PSU and it has 2 PCI-E 6 pins and 2 6+2 pins for xfire or sli down the road.

That one only has 2, It will work but when you add a 2nd GPU down the road you will have to buy extention and run it off the 4 pin molexs

Corsair it is!

Right, I know its been a while, but I thought I'd update.

I wanted to take advantage of the current discounts, so I went ahead and bought some parts.

HAF922 for $94, but after rebate its $60.
CoolerMaster V8 for $40
Western Digital Black Cav 750gb for $60

I'm currently looking at all of the LCDs that are on sale and trying to figure out whether or not I should jump on the deals. The Asus VW246H was sold out on Newegg :(
