Recently, I got 1Gb gDDR3 SDRAM 100 pcs, and want to use on AMD Park XT 512MB video card.

Need help on how to calculate the VRAM pcs for making 512MB card. Or, any other information I can study for.

How about 2Gb gDDR3 SDRAM on making 1G AMD Park video card.

Hmm... the way we calculate graphic on VRAM is using "bits".

For example: 1Gbit gDDR3 SDRAM. So, how to calculate how many pcs needed for example 512MB video card. or 1G video card.

I want to learn how to calculate how many pcs need for a video card.

Ex: 2Gb gDDR3 SDRAM need how many pcs to have 1G ATI Part XT video card...
Couldn't find any information on teaching calculation.

Hi cjl,

Thanks for your comment, please let me know the following calculation is correct.

Ex: If I want to make 512MB ATI Part XT card and use 1Gb gDDR3 SDRAM, the calculation is following.

1Gbit / 8 = 128MB, so 512MB/128MB = 4, which means I can find 4 pcs of 1Gb gDDR3 SDRAM on video card ?

If using 2Gb gDDR3 SDRAM on 1G ATI Park XT.

2G bit / 8 = 256MB, so 1GB / 256 MB = 4, which means I can find 4 pcs of 2Gb gDDR3 SDRAM on card ?

How about using 1Gb gDDR3 SDRAM on 1G ATI ParkXT? Find 8 pcs of 1Gb gDDR3 RAM on card ?

I am working on the laptop industry... so I have to calculate how many pcs of RAM needed for making some samples... My engineer just give me the config, but don't know how many ram I need to make those samples... ><

My colleague try to explain, but it's too technical..., so try to find a easy way to understand.
