I am getting problems of desktop crashing on my booting up screen. I have a Core 2 Quad Q6600 Processor, ASUS P5QL Socket 775 Intel P43 Mobo with OCZ DDR2 PC2-6400 800MHz 2X2048 MB Dual Channel Kit plus a ATi Radeon HD 4870 X2 2GB GPU running on Wins XP 32Bit SP 3.
A friend suggested I flash my Bios for my MoBo and install a Windows 7 64 Bit since my current memory usage is not optimized. Where do I get the flashing software for my MoBo? And is it necessary to increase my RAM?
go to the asus website and under support downloads, it will ask you what you are looking for choose motherboards, then, P5QL under socket 775. then it will ask you what OS your running, after all that it will give you a list of software you can download. there should be a drop menu for the bios. make sure you know what your doing before you flash your bios, if you screw it up, your board could very well be toast.
