I recently bought a second sata hard drive and imaged the first onto the second. Can I choose which drive to boot from at startup?

Yes. Configure the boot order in the BIOS or use a function key at POST (often F2, F8 or F12) to select which unit you want to boot from.

After you do as the above poster suggested, recover whatever data files like pictures, music, etc. from the old drive and then format it NTFS, and use it as an additional drive. The old drive will be obsolete when you install Windows updates on to the new drive.

After doing this, perform a complete backup using Win 7 Backup (Control Panel). A good alternative is EASEUS TODO BACKUP free version. Backup regularly and frequently.
