Snmp programming on a HP switch

How can I program SNMP on a HP Procurve as I have not done much with HP Switches. I have done VLAN and DHCP and it is working but need SNMP so that the data anamolaties are traced

You'll want to start by logging into the switch and setting it up to work with an SNMP community. You'll have to have something that is hosting the SNMP community.

For example, I have Solar Winds (paid for program) that hosts SNMP communities for monitoring. On servers, I setup the SNMP to use a community and Solar Winds responds. On your HP, you'll want to set SNMP to use a community that you have being monitoring elsewhere.

What problems are you having with your switch? May be resolved without needing to introduce SNMP into the situation?
