Quality of Foxconn A6VMX2-K AM2 /AM2 AMD 690V Micro ATX AMD Motherboard

I need a new motherboard and looked into this model found it for 40$ Foxconn A6VMX2-K AM2+/AM2 AMD 690V Micro ATX AMD Motherboard in need to replace on my 3 yr old pc no cash to get a new pc

I'm assuming that means that your CPU is AM2. I'd get the cheapest 770 chipset that you can. I wouldn't know about that specific board, but if you have no choice you have no chioce. You could also look at ebay.

For a 10 dollars more you could get a 780G board which would be alot better. Check out this page for bargains:

I wouldn't blame you if you didn't care for the open box stuff, but the 740G would be superior to the 690. Also, I've had some good luck with the 6100 chipsets- Asrock in particular. The 690 chipset is well beyond its prime.

Don't have any experience with the foxconn brand, but I know that they can produce good motherboards. For budget brands, I like Biostar, msi, and Asrock. Stay away from Jetway, in addition to the bad board I bought from them they have no support. Avoid companies that cannot back their products.

I went with MSI G31TM-P21 LGA 775 Intel G31 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard was a good deal and is the same as what came out
