sorry i mean which is better hd 4770 or hd 5750
:D

HD 4870 has better performance and price/perf ratio

HD 5750 has Dx11 and lower power consumption.

Or, refer to the buyer's guide to graphics cards each month.

The HD 5750 is roughly equal to the HD 4850, and the HD 5770 is roughly equal to the HD 4870. There the HD 4770 is the slower of the two cards you are considering.

5750 , by the way are u in india ? if yes tell me the dealer and prices for reference :)

Thanks to all..... guys im really confused whether to buy 4770 or 5750...
read reviews all night yesterday...though will be buying it within a month.
anyways....
prices for 4770 vary between Rs. 7000 - Rs. 7500
for 5750 i just read on some site , its starting price Rs. 9000.

Reply to amanjeet

If you ask me, the HD5750 is really not worth it, with a severely crippled core clock. Its the same with HD5770 but since a bit more powerful is at least worth the money with little increase in price. Save some and get HD5770, which is a much better buy.

yes thats what most reviews say and that too silently. actually read about dx11 yesterday n its features., shader model 5.0, hardware tesselation n all...so was kind of skeptic about 5750. il do look for gts 260, 4870 , 5750,4890 if i can get any of those near 4770's price bracket.

Reply to amanjeet

None of the cards you mentioned are within the 4770 price range. They all cost INR 2000 more at least.

 i was to do a quick reply but i thought 'add a reply' would bring about my emotions.

:pfff:
thats sad....what about gts 250 :heink:

Reply to amanjeet

Closer. But GTS 250 would be INR 500 more. But also not worth buying as the DX11 cards are out.
GTS250 ~ HD4850. 5750 is somewhere around these two, maybe a little lower in performance.

Reply to hell_storm2004

guess il have to stick with my earlier choice of 4770. :bounce:
moreover my monitor is a 15" samsung. with nvidia 6100 onboard...the resolutions are upto i think 1280x1024. former being 1152,1024,800 etc
so...it'll be sufficient.
at these resoltuions will it be able to handle crysis,warhead,fallout3,mass effect at high settings.
i know it can handle far cry 2 very well.
and also the stalker series. wolfenstein
hmmm..sry for the long list of games i like... :D
a couple of more r in my list. :D

both crysis 2 and upcoming stalker : call of pripyat will require more power than 4770 to play smoothly with all max settings , and they will use dx11 . get a 5770 , you can overclock it , check the article on tom's .

hii...u can check www.lynx-india.com

here u can find the indian prices of the cards and various other products.

5750 is around Rs 9000 approx and 4770 is Rs. 7000 approx. :)

thanks amanjeet , tell me whether lynx is a reliable dealer ... i am in gurgaon , considering buying from them for my next p55 build .... prices are better than many dealers , i checked that out . another good thing is that they have a lot of range in cases , fans , motherboards besides the usual cpu, video and memory .

:hello: you are welcome.i am also planning to buy a 5750 or 5770 from lynx, have chceked the prices too. yes prices are good for other products too. dont know abt reliability, wud prefer to go to chd to buy. as m wrkng in jalandhar n i live in ludhiana,so its not far for me. i found this site from net while searching for indian dealers.

Reply to amanjeet

i would most probably have them ship it , will call them about details of payment and shipping charges ... i am also going to check out nehru place prices in delhi .. lynx has the best 5770 price (10.6k online) out of all online shops i checked ...

Reply to cyberkuberiah

Guys ..if you really want to save some money and got Nehru place - you will probabbly save 1K on the prcie of 5750 quoted by lynx...Also directx11 is the way to go and if you are planning ot invest about 10K on a card i would suggest a future oriented hd 5XXX card...

for myself i was sure to get a HD 5850 (INR 17K)but those things are out of stock all over the globe and had to get myself the HD 5870 which cost me about 26K which is like 5K higher compared to US prices.

Remember that demand for ddr5 equipment for far more than they can produce so i guess you guys need to get your 5x series cards as soona s possible.

Reply to what_matters

thanks a lot everyone for reinforcing nehru place prices ... i was kinda being lazy to order from lynx or techshop , looks like ill save much money if i go to NP and pick up .

Reply to cyberkuberiah

BTW , the 4850 is darn cheap is NP , around 6k for 512mb version .. best price/performance ... relatively cheaper then both 4770 , 5750 . considering i am using a borrowed nvidia 6600 agp on old p4 , even 4850 is gonna be outstanding ... all i want to play is call of duty/moh airborne games ... crysis is to0 costly for the hardware requirements .

Reply to cyberkuberiah

hi......its getting really confusing for people like us who are budget conscious. can anyone plz get some of the nehru place computer dealers website addresses where i can check the rates of cards........ ?????

Reply to amanjeet

i went there yesterday , so here are the latest fro you :-

xfx gts 250 is 8.5k
msi 5750 is 9k
5770 is 10.7k
sapphire 5850 16.8k .
most of them dont have 4770/4850/4870 in stock .
and xfx 9800gt is 6.5k . but it really is underpowered for today's standards ..
4670 is around 4.5k
athlon 620 5100 , x2 550 is 5200
wd 500gb 32mb 2690 (seagate 7200.12 is 2450 , but less reliable)
lg sata dvdrw 1100/1150
msi p55gd 65 - 9500
gigabyte p55 ud3r - 11.5
p7p55d - 10.5
corsair 550vx 5800
coolermaster 690 - 4500 (4900 transparent side)
i7 920 15k.

only SMC international has gskill ram and artic silver , and nobody has antec cases .

there are 3 main stores in the same corridor :

Cost2Cost : all prices are printed on paper , large
Computer empire : only one to have corsair psu's , just after c2c.
SMC international : before c2c , has good selection of gpu's and mobo's and CM cases and especially many CM cpu fans.

is there anything else whose prices u wanna know ?

Reply to cyberkuberiah

i got an i5 750 , msi p55gd65 , corsair 550vx , cooler master 690 case , lg dvd , wd 500gb 32mb , cooler master hyper 212+ cpu cooler yesterday ...

gskill 2x2gb ram will come after 9 days to SMC international as well as artic silver mx2 ... then i would boot up ! also , i will buy the sapphire 5850 most probably . it has the best performance in and around that price range . 5870 is 26k !!! obviously not getting that .

Reply to cyberkuberiah

:ouch: i guess lynx is cheap in case of 5750. :( just 250 rs cheap. but its better still compared to np.
thanks a lot. ok so u buying 5850, u didnt mention its price..... :pt1cable: let me guess its out of my budget.....

Reply to amanjeet

yeah but that 9k msi 5750 has a better fan than reference and has msi afterburner overvolting and overclocking tools with full bios support ... lynx has the reference one ... sapphire 5850's 16.8k... i thought hard about getting one 5750/5770 now and crossfiring it now , until i realized that the 5850 outperforms 2x 5750 in every game , and uses a bit of less power ... and no crossfire support issues ... and the 5850 is cheaper than 2x5750 .. i wont go even with 2x5770 , its even more costly ... (2x10.7k) .

if ure doing a pickup from lynx , ok otherwise there would be shipping costs even if its next city ... plus replacement problem if something goes wrong in online orders , as there is nothing such as RMA in india ... best is to go there and pickup from lynx ...

above are the 7even [:)] cards from which il hopefully buy one this coming weekend. so , plz vote for the best price/performance card. hmm..il make easy for u all u can exclude the one with a tag of Rs 7585.i guess , i cant go that for as situations(financially) have changed.
and the above price/feature details are from www.lynx-india.com.
below are my system details..
CPU ->> 4000+ AMD dual core
Motherboard->> Gigabyte S2 series with nvidia 6100
Monitor->> Samsung 15" inch (min resolution 800 x 600,max resolution 1152 x 768, both at 32 bit)
RAM->> 2GB DDRII 667 MHz(1GB each stick)
PSU->>400w (one that comes with the cabinet) :)

hmm..yeah thats all....sry if im missing something...plz help me buy a better card as of now i dont want dx11 card like HD 5750 cz i had seen its reviews for dirt 2 and DX 9 screenshots looks almost similar to DX11. just that 1 setting 'POST Processing' cant be set to high in DX 9 or DX 10 cards. consider games like crysis/crysis warhead/avatar/stalker/COP ..hmmm n my system's PSU tooo :)
ugh...i guess this is getting wayyy tooooo long.so now il leave it to u guys/gals..thanks :)
Happy New Year once again.

Right well considering the PSU in the case i think we are limited in what we can reliably recomend. I wouldnt want to run anything you hav elisted except a 4670 with a standard 400w PSU.
At the resolutions you have available you wont be needing 1GB ao Ram so you can save that way as well.

Considering price vs performance and your PSU i would go for no 6 on your list.

hmm ok...and can it handle crysis at those resolutions???
considering if it can handle crysis anything else will fly..:) n fps of 30+ would be nice, right?? thts wht i hv heard...

Mactronix , number 7 has 1tvout, does that mean i can view tv programs on my pc thru it n record them too.n its just 300 more than number 6.if not then il go with number 6 definitely n will post about my exp with this card.

It will play Crysis ok not at max settings but well enough in my opinion, I would say medium settings at native resolution. Its more or less the same card as a 3850 which i played Crysis on and found it a good experiance.
As for the TV out the answer is no im afraid. You would need a TV tunner card to do what you are asking about.
You can watch Internet TV using any GPU but if you want to receive the actual signal from a TV station then you need a tunner card.

i got my 5850 this week : thank god my self done system booted the first time !!! running most of the games max with 8xaa etc on my tv now .... god ... even call of duty 2 which i played on my old system looks ridiculously better with max settings .... i will install windows 7 for dx11 and dirt 2 free coupon in some days ... for that psu 4670 would be ok . 4850 consumes much more juice ....
