Why would you want a QX9770? It's slower than the i7-960, and it's often slower than the i7-920.

I agree with cjl. The QX9770 retailed for about $1,000. For that kind of money, you can build a Core I7 system, which is way faster.

The only reason I could see wanting this CPU is if you had already invested in an LGA 775 system which could accept such a CPU, basically a board with an X48 chipset. Anyway, your best bet on this one is to go on eBay

Yeah, but for the cost of this CPU (even on ebay), you could get an i7-920 and a motherboard, which would be a better investment.

$1500 actually. The QX9650 was $1000, and available at the same time.
