DDR2 4GB KITS (4x1GB) vs (2x2GB) Which is faster?

I have a Gigabyte ga-ep45-ud3p motherboard with an e8400 and 2gb Kingston 800mhz non heatsink ram and I want to upgrade to 4gb which is the better direction in terms of speed and stabilty with buying 2 more 1gb sticks or buying a 2x2gb and selling the original 2x1gb ram. Please if references to dual and single channel a necessary please educate me?

I would purchase a 2x2GB set and sell the 2x1GB set.... IMO

A lot of motherboards have issues with all four RAM slots filled and you would need to make sure you have the exact model number # on the new RAM to match up with your original RAM to help prevent possible BSOD issues.
