Upgrading

So the old 9800 GT isnt cutting it anymore. Any ideas on what would be best to replace it with the following system.

Gigabyte ep45-ud3p rev 1.1
C2D e7300 running at the stock 2.66Ghz
4 gigs of 1066 Kingston HyperX
1000 watt thermaltake toughpower
500 gig seagate hd
9800GT

The answer is based on your budget. You could go HD5850/70 but you would as well get a good increase from GTX260, HD4870/4890 and HD5770

Well I'm running Windows 7 x64. So would the 5770 be the best choice without spending $200+

HD5770 is not as fast as HD4890 (-20%) but it has DX11 and uses less power. Right now it is expensive since it is new. I expect it to come down in price after the Holiday season so the question is can you wait?

Holiday season is about the only time I can talk the wife into letting me splurge a bit. Was gonna try and get a gfx and a cpu around the same time. But a wait wouldn't kill me, just tired of lagging on certain games on plan old High settings at 1440x900.
