RAM for ASUS P7P55D-E Pro Board

Hey everyone,

I just bought an ASUS P7P55D-E Pro motherboard the other day and am now looking at buying some RAM. I was looking at installing Windows 7 Home Premium which would allow me to take advantage of 16GB of RAM, if needed. I'm going to doing a bit of video editing and photo processing.

My goal is to get a couple sticks of 4GB DDR3 1600 for now and build up as needed ... maybe in the future all the way to 16GB. One thing I'm confused about is that when I look at the "Qualified Vendors" list in my motherboard manual, it doesn't really have any 4GB sticks listed.

Does this board support that? If so, which would be the best kind to pick up. I was looking at some G.Skill RAM:

Is this compatible? Is there a more up-to-date chart somewhere online? Any other suggestions for RAM?

Thanks,
Brandon

How can you tell this is triple channel memory, it doesn't mention that anywhere in the specs? That kind of RAM you mention is only 2GB sticks. That would only allow me to get up to 8GB of memory on my board. Any suggestions for 4GB sticks?

  4. I revisted your ram link and it does seem it is dual channel the reviews threw me off as 2 guys put them in 1366 set-ups but thats newegg for ya lol!
Nothing wrong with that ram it is 4gb dual for lga 1156.
Specification tab is not very descriptive.
Wow do you really need 16gb!
Would be nice though if you can afford it.
  5. Hmm ... maybe the 4GB sticks are overkill right now. I'll shoot for 2GB sticks and see how that goes.

I'm currently looking at this combo with G.Skill RAM. How does this sound for my motherboard?
