Crashed hard disc not running in windows xp cpu how to recover data fr

I was using widows xp OS.When my PC crashed due to blue screen I tried to reinstall Windows XP OS.The cd drive booted and xp was installed with some errors.After that he hard disk stuck up and did not respond and did not start.How can I get the data on the drives c,d e and f which consist important data and photos

You may have to fixmbr from the recovery console of XP.

you can use a liveCD boot disc like Ubuntu 12.04. Once your system is booted you can examine the local drives, if the data is readable you can back it up to a usb thumbdrive or external hard disk.
