[ASUS] M4A78T-E Hybrid CrossFireX Question

Maybe the dumbest question asked all day but I'm not finding the answer on my own... (and flatout don't know since its been too long since my last upgrade.)

Anyhow, I'm really liking the M4A89GTD PRO/USB3 (getting a AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition, 125w version) but I'm just a bit leery of the board's onboard video cards and rather or not it's Hybrid CrossFire would interfere with two 'standard' video cards preforming in a normal CrossFire mode...

So would it or will the two cards be able to work normally?

PS I did uses the search function but most of what I found regarding the motherboard was RAM related.

If you are asking is there a problem running 2 cards in crossfire on this board them no there is not. I am not totally sure but I don't think there in any advantage in the 890GX chipset over the cheaper 880G if you are not using the onboard graphics, though if you get the 890FX then both cards can run at the full x 16 speed rather than 8X.
  2. Thanks, I'm going to go with the 890FX since its more upgradable down the road.
