ASUS P8P67-delux and SanDisk cardreader(s)

Hello,

Here's a weird one. New system, ASUS P8P67-deluxe with i7 2600K, 16 GB mem. Windows 7, 64-bit; and a SanDisk card reader. If I insert a SandDisk CF card or a SanDisk SD card, while Windows is up, then I can't read the cards. If I rebott while the cards are in the reader then I can.

Any thoughts? I'va had the systemn wiped and Windows reinstalled, and the very first USB device I attacehed was the SandDisk card reader. Still no joy. Tried this with two different cardreaders. Put the cards back in my cameras and they are fine.
