Wireless connectivity

Hello,
My desktop is hard wired and internet is working. I have a connection on my laptop, BUT it won't let me on the internet. Do I have something wired wrong? Could comeone send me a "wiring schematic please?

Are both the desktop and laptop using a wired connection? Are you using a router?

In order for more two or more computers to share the Internet connection from your ISP, you MUST have a router. Most ppl buy a wireless router so they can have both wired and wireless connections.
