Hello, I have been mapping out my next computer and after much research I have chosen the Gigabyte UD5.
After that I researched on which memory that would be great and I found the Mushkin Enhanced Backline part #996782.
I originally chose the crucial ballistix tracers but the mushkin was more recommended and for a fact works on the UD5.
So the other thing I need to know is what CPU cooler would fit with these parts and a AMD 955??

I thought about getting the 1055 but Toms rated it lower than the 965/955, so the 955 it is. The case is undisputed "HAF-X".
What I want to try and figure out is what coolers would be best for this outfit.
The two on my list are the CM 212+ or Tuniq Tower 120 Extreme. I just didn't want to get the Tuniq and not have it fit

Anyways this is all speculation from what I have gathered, if you have any other suggestions please let me know and if you know of
place or info on great coolers for the ud5 please let me know!

Thanks

Hi.

Very nice mobo I'm waiting for a new one and I prefer the Crucial since are much better that the Mushkin.

Now, the dimensions of ur case are: (675*300*620)mm (D/W/H)
and the dimension of the Tuniq are: (15.7*112.31*131)mm (D/W/H)

The Tuniq fit without problems in ur case.

Thats kinda funny cause I have had the crucial in my cart for awhile and today I read about the mushkin in a forum, but like 15 minutes ago I looked at them both and
decided on th crucial instead, because not only does it look sweet but people from toms are the ones who told me about it.

Yeah I was going to go with the CM 692 advanced but the HAF-X is just so awesome, so right now in my cart I just have two cm 692 so it represents
the haf-x so I can see how much it will all cost. Anyways the tuniq tower is actually a lot smaller than most coolers, I knew it would fit but I like second opinions.

It actually would fit in the CM 692. I also have thought about the 1090 but to much $, then the 1050 is actually rated below the 965/955 so I chose the 955.
I had the idea for the CM 692, but between the optional side panel, fans and stuff I could pretty much get a HAF-X.

Here is exactly what I have in the cart:
amd 955
gigabyte ud5
tuniq tower 120 exe.
crucial tracers 4gb blue
kaze master pro fan controller
Asus eah-directcu 5850
Corsair HX750
CoolerMaster 200mm & 120mm & 80mm blue for the HAF-X
windows 7 home
artic silver 5 paste
western digital 1tb 6gb/s
lite on dvd oem
NZXT 24pin extension and 8 pin extension black(looks fancy)=Everything above is in a cart at newegg for 1537w/shipping(not including mail-ins and etc)
I am assuming the HAF-X is 200$, so if that is true then my price is about right

Thanks, I have spent awhile researching for hours, reading benchmarks, and watching videos to compile all these pieces.
I just wanted to make sure everything should work just fine, and with the HAF-X, space shouldn't be an issue.
For 1500 it's a great deal, there is a few things that can change, like getting windows pro or ultimate, 8 gigs of tracer, Asus 5870 V2 or what I really wanted was an
intel x-25-mainstream 80gb for 200, but I will have to see how much I will have extra lol.

Reply to Salt-City_Slasher

IMO the 8GB aren't useful today, maybe in the future but with 4GB is enough for games and applicatoins, unless that u use many adobe applications at the same time.

Win 7 ultimate is very good be sure that u get the x64 version.

A good investment of ur extra money will be a 5870 over the 5850 a SSD or add another 5850 for Crossfire.

Well I can OC a 5850 up to stock 5870 speeds, and 1 set of 4gb's should be sufficent.
With the SDD, the Intel X-25 mainstreams is what I was told to get, but I am positive i won't have extra for it.

The only thing I really want to upgrade is to windows pro 64, which shouldn't be a problem. I really would like to get two 5850's that would be sweet, the HX750 can only handle 2 cards, which is the most I plan on. I just barely got a 23" Acer H233H, for it and a logitech mouse, so I really don't need that many accessory's besides the one I said earlier.

yeah I need one bad, winters in utah, always have power bumps and random through the summer.
I have looked at some but I have really researched any of them, do you have one in mind???

Reply to Salt-City_Slasher

Well, the problem is that a good UPS for ur rig is around $180. See here

that is off the hook, but that is probably a little to much, but I am sure I will figure out something. I definitely need to get one for sure.
I can probably do around 100, but I will have to see.

Reply to Salt-City_Slasher

IDK much about them UPS and stuff, but how to you know how much voltages and watts you need?

Reply to Salt-City_Slasher

Hey I was wondering about this, do you think that the HX750 is the one I should get?
I have looked at the HX650 and I was afraid it wouldn't be enuff juice to run my computer. I also was looking at the HX850, which was
the one I originally had but decided that it might be overkill, and the only reason for it would be because it has the hookups for a third GPU, while
these other two only have enuff for 2 cards. 2 5850 was my plan and there is to much other stuff to worry about a third card.

I do know is that I am getting a HX, and its one of those three. I thought about the TX's but I have to have the modular on all non essential cords.
Plus there not rated as good as the HX series.

So once I again I want a second opinion, and pretty much I want to know if 650 would be more than plenty or if I am definitely going to need 850 watts??

Here are the system requirements for the 5850

ATI Radeonâ„¢ HD 5850 System Requirements

PCI Express® based PC is required with one X16 lane graphics slot available on the motherboard
500 Watt or greater power supply with two 75W 6-pin PCI Express® power connectors recommended (600 Watt and four 6-pin connectors for ATI CrossFireX™ technology in dual mode)
Certified power supplies are recommended. Refer to http://ati.amd.com/certifiedPSU for a list of Certified products
Minimum 1GB of system memory
Installation software requires CD-ROM drive
DVD playback requires DVD drive
Blu-rayâ„¢ playback requires Blu-ray drive
For an ATI CrossFireXâ„¢ system, a second ATI Radeonâ„¢ HD 5850 graphics card, an ATI CrossFireX Ready motherboard and one ATI CrossFireX Bridge Interconnect cable per graphics card (included) are required

The recommended PSU is for the entire system, so I think that with a good 650W PSU is enough for ur rig.

For know the UPS that u need, is very easy u only need divide the Watt of ur PSU by 0.7 that is the PFC or Power Factor Corrector, for ur case 750W/0.7=1071VA plus a 20% for overload and future upgrades, the 20% isn't necessary but is recommendable.

Well 650 is the one for sure, and the only other one would be the 850 if I plan on 3 graphic cards. But that is probably not needed so 650 will be good.

SO 930 rounded would be the VA for a 650, and with 20% it would be 1115VA. The ups's that high are about the same price anyway.
I really don't know which brands are good but i will start research on them.

I was looking for something a little cheaper and I like the ones with a LCD screen. What do you think of this one.

Seems good and with two years warranty that is a good time warranty. APC or Trip Lite are very good manufacturers.

Yeah I will look more into them, and 180$ for the one you showed me sounds a hell of a lot better than replacing my entire rig.

Reply to Salt-City_Slasher

^jeje that's right, and UPS is much cheap that build another rig.

UPS are great, I always hate seeing my PC turn off over a small flicker in current. Here in Florida the summers are known for almost DAILY power spasms like this from rainy weather. Its worth every penny!

I think I could afford something around a 100ish like the one I showed you. I would just have to take out a few accessory's.

I know the UPC is more needed than some of the little things I got. Like the blue lights, nzxt extension, and getting windows 7 home instead of pro.
I think I will be able to afford it, just by dropping the windows 7 to home.
