Computer Freeze / AntiVirus

i forgot when i rebooted that a second antivirus software was going to be activated. my computer upon booting gets to my desktop, but before i can do anything, it freezes. is there a way to boot in a way i can disable 1 of the anti-virus programs?

they are Vipre and BitDefender.

you can boot into safe mode and then remove the offending program.
