I have lost my excel sheet on desktop

when i open another file or application, idon\'t know what happen to it, but it is not appears on desktop, later i search the file and found by its name than i do some work in this and close it. but when i try toopen it again a message appears that \'the file may lost or currupted\' something like that, plz help me

This is for excel 2002 / 2003. Look for something similar in later releases.
To manually repair a file

On the File menu, click Open.
In the Open dialog box, select the file you want to open, and click the arrow next to the Open button.
Click Open and Repair, and then choose which method you want to use to recover your workbook.
