EVGA 9500gt not working in DVI

I got my girlfriends computer a evga 9500gt..her motherboard is only PCIE, but the card is compadable. But it wont work in DVI...the wallpaper image came up in DVI, but its just black now. So had to switch back to vga. Is this due to the motherboard not being pci 2.0?..The monitor and card drivers are all up to date

My mobo is PCIe 1.0 and my 9500GT works perfectly outputting via DVI @ 1920 x 1050.

i got it, i rolled back the video driver and it works...
