Hi
I bought a new hard drive, Hitachi IC25N, 20 gb. for a Toshiba satellite pro
4300. On removing the old hdd the connection pins new / old look quite
different. Is this right? I thought that a laptop hdd would be like a PC IDE
drive, it would fit any machine. Wally!
Any advice?
TIA
Chris

Look at the drive you removed; I suspect there is an adapter or caddy
thing mounted to it that you'll have to transfer over to the new
drive.

Take a close look at the old drive. It might be in a drive caddy with
its own pin adapter. There are four screws, two on each side
(typically) which can be removed to release the old drive. The new
drive might fit right in the caddy.
