Try reseating or replacing your memory chip. One beep often means the BIOS
can't read your ram.

Your ESC key is either stuck down, had something spilled in it or just has
failed. Holding down the ESC key while powering up is the way into the BIOS
setup on all Toshiba built models (not Compal built) and the "F1" message is
what normally comes up when you do that.
