My laptop's CD drive is missing and I can't afford a replacement. The BIOS does not support usb booting.

To install XP, I first load the 6 Microsoft SP2 diskettes which then allow me to install XP from the XP Setup CD in my external usb CD drive.

I would like to be able to restore my C drive partition from an image created using Macrium Reflect. To do this I need to be able to boot BartPE from a CD drive.

How can I make a diskette allowing me to to boot into BartPE, or other utilities, from my external usb CD drive?

Thank you.

My laptop is a GATEWAY 450SX4, P4 2.0 GHZ, 512MB RAM. I have to use a PCMCIA USB 2.0 card for file transfers because it only has 2 USB 1.0 ports.

I have a 250GB Desktop HDD in an external USB enclosure. My flash drive is a 4GB LEXAR Firefly.

Thanks for replying
