Hard Drive not recognized

Last response: in Storage

Last night I shut my PC down with the "Sleep mode" (Standby or whatever it's called), I went afk for an hour and when I came back to start my PC again I got following message:

"Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key"

My HDD is not recognized in the BIOS, I checked if all the wires were plugged in correctly, but it's still not working.

I also tried to load BIOS default settings, but it didn't help.

I tested it again this morning and somehow it worked fine, until I had to shut down the PC again.

Maybe is my HDD just dying, but I bought it 1 month ago...

Welcome to Tom's Hardware Forums!

To eliminate the hard disk as the problem, and to check its health anyway, download and run "HD Tune" and "CrystalDisk Info". Both are good programs and will tell you a lot about your hard drives.
