Hello,

Just finished building a computer with P5K motherboard.
I switched on and was asked to go to setup to update settings so I did that all seamed fine, saved on exiting and the computer went off and then it came back on with only a blank screen and then I turned it off and back on, nothing happened then turned it off took out the on board battery then replaced it, switched the computer back on went through setup again saved on exit, back to blank screen, can anyone help please, Rob

In the BIOS settings, set to factory defaults
Check that everything is detecting properly, memory hard drives etc
set boot order to cd, usb, hdd
save and exit.
put some form of bootable media in the CD or USB. (like a windows install CD)

what happens?

So you can get into the BIOS, everything is detecting correctly, you can even make changes, but you cant save and exit? That doesn't sound right.

If you pull the memory and video card do you you get any POST beep codes?

This is an Asus board right? I would check the BIOS revision and see if there is an update. Failing that I would call your vendor. I am having trouble understanding how you can get into the BIOS and see everything as being correct but unable to save on exit. Just doesn't make any sense. I am left with the conclusion that there is a problem with the BIOS but something tells me I am just not getting enough information to diagnose this properly.
