Hey, im new to this site and in some areas lacking on my computer and hardware knowledge but i was wondering what would be the best hardware in terms of the money im looking to spend.

Some parts that i have looked at are the GPU and CPU but have little knowlegde of other areas. Here are two that i have found:

Intel Core i5 750 Qaud Core Processor
(2.66GHz, 8MB L3 Cache, 2.5 GT/s Bus, Socket H LGA1156 - MPN: BX80605I5750) - 120 Quid

BFG - NVIDIA GeForce 260 GTX OC MAXCORE 55 896MB GDDR3 PCI Express Graphics Card - 130 Quid

I was wondering if anyone could tell me about hardware that will work well with these two, or gie me a completely different build for the 400-600 quid mark.

Thanks

well, i doubt that you will be able to build a new gaming rig for anywhere less than 1000 if ur looking for the best performance, i mean, ur looking to spend 500 on a system, allready half of that is gone on the cpu/gpu. you now have 250 to spend on a hdd, cd rom, case, psu, motherboard, cpu cooler, ram.... ur going to need to throw in another 1 or 2 to buy these if ur looking for an upper mid end system... and thats assuming you allready have a monitor, speakers, mouse, keyboard etc

Hi this entire rig weighs in under $600 and the HD 4670 is actually a tad overkill for the native resolution of the LCD bundled in i.e 1366 x 768 hehe Game on!

i never said 500 for cpu and gpu, i said half of his 500$ budget on cpu gpu. Do you know how to divide 500 by 2? Didnt think so...
