Hello!

I have got a tonne of problems with this computer I've built myself. A lot of them have come after updates and a lot of them are USB related. Firstly my windows phone dosen't connect to my pc, then my card reader that did work before and now memory sticks. My pc has got USB 3.0 but I really don't care about it as long as I can just connect something to my PC. By the way my card reader does not need a driver and the website claims that too and it did work instantly before these updates. Also I've lost 2 cores off my 6 core CPU. SOUNDS GREAT DOES IT NOT?

All help will be appreciated! :D

1) What OS are you running? 2) Can you afford the time to do a complete re-install, maybe to a new partition so that you can still boot your old OS? If it was just USB I would suspect the USB hardware, but it sounds as if either your OS is corrupted or your hardware is dying (I've never heard of a software problem eating cores before).

I've had problems in the past with some USB ports not working while some do.

Have you installed ALL drivers for your motherboard/USB devices?

Before doing anything drastic, try the following:

Power off machine.
Unplug power chord.
Leave for a couple of minutes.
Replug power chord.
Power on.
The USB ports should have reset themselves.
