PS/2 Keyboard Adapter

I was wondering if there was any way to tell whether or not my USB keyboard will work with a PS/2 adapter so that I can use it in my BIOS settings. I don't want to turn on legacy. Or in newer motherboards do you not necessarily need a PS/2 keyboard. Any help is appreciated.
