Did I make a good choice?

Hi everyone Hope you all having a good day. Well I recently bought some parts for a new system build. I was wondering did I do well cause my friend says I could have done better with the $400 upgrade budget I had. Here are my old specs:

Intel Pentium d 820
Nvidia 6600gt 128mb ddr3
1gb ddr 2 ram

New Specs:

Amd Phenon x2 BE 3.1 ghz
Nvidia 9800gt 1gb ddr3 Pci-e 2.0
2gb ddr2 ram 800mhz
Gigabyte MA785GM-US2H Motherboard

And one last question. It has a onboard ATI Radeon HD 4200 graphics. Would it be better than my 9800gt?

Pretty good for $400 but i would have dropped a bit more onto the GPU if you are going to be gaming but its going to be a significant upgrade for you.

The 4200 is very weak relative to the 9800GT, its actually slightly weaker tahn your old 6600GT, its only really good for HTPCs or very light gaming at 1024x768.

I ran Crysis at 1280x1024 and it recommended gamer settings so im thinking if it runs crysis it will run COD4.
